The Historian and the seals
20 September 2026. The University welcomes Historian Nimbus, who has always been here. The History section now has its own index of 22 events, each with a long page of its own, plus the Historian's Notebook, the Chancellors, the Archive and Ask the Historian. Also new: the seals of the University, illustrations for every blog post, and longer research papers, each with a case study, discussion and conclusion.
New: staff, capstones and calendar
20 September 2026. Meet the human staff, browse capstone projects, and add the academic calendar to your own calendar. Also new: three more study abroad reports (Scotland, Italy and Ireland), more research papers, and more Ask a Professor columns.
Site navigation improved
20 September 2026. The footer is now organised into four sections (Learn, Campus life, Explore and About), and the new Campus life hub and site map list every page. New this week: The Gnarp Gazette, Scholarships, Athletics, three more study abroad reports, more research papers, and more Ask a Professor columns.
New pages added

Portal maintenance
20 September 2026. 03:00 to 03:15. The Student Portal, email and timetables are unavailable during this window. A cat is sitting on the server. Service resumes when it moves.
New website launched
19 September 2026. Gnarp University has launched a redesigned website, including Research, Faculty, a Blog and this Updates page. Please report broken links to staff, who will note them.
Sunbeam Atrium hours
16 September 2026. The Atrium closes daily from 14:00 for cleaning, and reopens once the sunlight has relocated. We thank students for their patience and for not lying in the cleaning area.
Library reshelving policy
15 September 2026. Items on the third floor will be reshelved once they have been knocked off. Students who have lost a glass, a pen, or a plant should contact staff.
Lecture Hall B network
12 September 2026. Wi-Fi in Lecture Hall B is intermittent due to a box that arrived on Tuesday. The box will remain in place.
New staff orientation
8 September 2026. Human staff joining this term are invited to read the guide for new staff. Doors, feeding and laps are covered. Attendance is compulsory and will be recorded by a cat.
Autumn term begins
1 September 2026. Classes begin at sunrise, or whenever the sun patch arrives. Students are reminded that a nap is a form of attendance.
Box amnesty week
28 August 2026. Any box that arrives on campus during Box Amnesty Week may be kept by the first student to sit in it. No questions will be asked, and none will be answered.
Convocation reminder
20 August 2026. Midnight Convocation will begin at 03:00, which is midnight in feline time. Please note that the start time will not change.
