The Archive holds the objects that survive from the University’s history. It is open by request, and visitors are asked not to knock anything off. Several items are occupied, and the Archive would like to remind visitors that these should be left alone.
The Impression
A shallow dent in the ground, said to be the outline of the first sleeper. Preserved under a small glass cover. Not to be stepped on.
The First Glass
The glass that fell at the opening of the Kitchen Counter Observatory. It has a small crack. Please do not knock.
The Founding Box
The box in whose shade the Chancellor sat. It is in the Archive and is, at the time of writing, occupied.
The Accords
The scroll of the Doorway Accords, with fifteen paw prints at the bottom and fourteen small crossings-out.
The Convocation Cushion
The cushion from which the first address was given. It has a large dent, and has never been reupholstered.
The Door
A door, closed, in an unmarked corridor. It has a small brass plate that reads 'Do not.'
The First Opener
A hand-cranked can opener, still in working order. It is used once a year, and every cat in the building comes.
The Chart
Madame Solari's chart of eleven Tuesdays, each showing 07:42. It is very short, and in a gold frame.
The Ramp
A section of ramp from the first visiting saucer, now used as a bench in the Atrium.
